Born from a project between the Jean Jaurès school in Toulouse and the Forge de Laguiole manufactory, the Dayat is part of the Monobloc range of Forge de Laguiole knives, with a unique style.

The Dayat sits on the side without the blade touching the table. The Dayat’s stylized bee, engraved on its side, is revealed in a fine, subtle way. Its slender handle with rounded edges offers a light, pleasant grip. The knife finishes with a beveled handle.
Three students in master of Design, Anialie DAVAN, Salomé GARRA, and Mallaury CANTAGREL have created this modern and unique Forge de Laguiole table knife..
«The Dayat is a knife of remembrance, which draws its shape from ancestral cutting gestures. It evokes the memory of the shepherd carving his stick. It is the trace of the tool accompanied by the gesture. From a form emerges an object. From a blank, we sculpted the material until the knife surfaced. In a quest for pureness, we worked with few imprints to preserve the simplicity of its form and reveal only the essential. We wanted to give this knife a poetic cultural dimension: that of a rich and humble heritage.»
