How to care for your Laguiole table knives? Forge de Laguiole gives you some advice on how to care for your Laguiole table knives and cutlery.
First of all, it’s important to know whether your knife is water-resistant. This information is given on the product data sheets on our website.
The natural materials of the handles, such as precious woods or horn, are particularly sensitive to humidity. To clean the blade of your knives, use a non-abrasive sponge with a dishwashing liquid to degrease the blade without scratching it, then rinse it under warm water and dry it carefully with a soft cloth.
Water-resistant materials such as compressed fabric, black and opalescent acrylic, densified ash and vegetable fiber are dishwasher-safe.
After use, we recommend that you clean the blade with a soft cloth or slightly damp sponge and then immediately wipe it with a dry cloth.
For storage, we recommend a box or knife case so that the knives do not touch each other and so that scratch marks (especially on the metal parts) can be prevented.
