The handles, whether made of wood, horn, bone or from other rare materials such as mammoth teeth or stingray skin, are individually selected, sculpted and handset by our Master-Knifesmiths.
The most traditional handles are made of wood, horn or bone, the rarer ones from mother of pearl, coral, ivory and even mammoth tooth. The knife with a rosewood handle (left) is particularly elegant.
After the initial cutting in the sewing workshop, each side is adjusted perfectly to fit between the two bolsters. For Forge de Laguiole, such precision is a sign of our commitment to quality.
