The masterpiece foldable knife assortment includes the most remarkable and rare pieces from our ateliers comparable to the art of jewelry making. They are handcrafted, among others, by master knife smith, Stéphane Rambaud.
Stéphane Rambaud was born in 1968 in Lyon, France. He trained at the school for Cutlery and Knife Making in Nogent, where he was awarded the gold medal for best apprentice in 1987.
Stéphane Rambaud and our master knife-smiths create exceptional folding knives, many inspired by individual customers.
Each of these unique creations are entirely handmade in our ateliers in Laguiole.

The bee, one of the symbols of an Original Forge de Laguiole® knife, is carved with a file and an engraver. The legend goes that the Napoleonic imperial symbol was attributed to the citizens of Laguiole by Emperor Napoléon himself as a tribute to their courage shown in the services to the emperor.
The blades, made from the high-quality French T12 steel which is exclusively produced for Forge de Laguiole®, are forged to 1000°C in our manufactory in Laguiole, France. This stainless steel is the result of a perfectly balanced combination of carbon and chrome providing an exceptional cutting edge while guaranteeing a high durability.
